In the village of Montellà, next to Martinet, in “la Cerdanya”, we developed the design and controlled the workmanship of the structural project of reform of an old traditional country house. The challenge was to keep the outer original stone wall while we emptied and built inside the parcel. In fact, the level of the new foundation was lower than the existing masonry and we had to consolidate the base of the walls.
The new structure was built with a foundation of joined footings (innerly and with an outer ring) due to seismic resistant approach, steel supports and reinforced concrete solid slabs.
